We are very proud to be one of the school for Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. Our location enables us to have close links with the Cathedral and we work closely with Father Dominic to celebrate important events, feasts and Holy days throughout the year.
The Feast of St Nicholas
The feast of St Nicholas is held on the 6th December each year. We celebrate our feast day with our families during Mass at the Cathedral. We also give out Gold coins to remember how St Nicholas helped those around him. During this day we make links with our local community. This year, we invited local pensioners to a special lunch where we served them roast dinner. Our choir provided entertainment for this event.
Advent and Christmas 2016
At the start of Advent, we were joined by Father Dominic to helps us to prepare for the coming of Jesus. Together we made Wreaths in each class to help us to count down to the day of Jesus’ birth. We also tried to help other less fortunate by raising money by Carol singing in our local community.
In the Spring Term we celebrated Lent. At the start of Lent, our Priest Father Dominic helps us to remember the purpose of Lent in our Ash Wednesday Service.
Throughout Lent, we are trying to grow closer to Jesus by helping others. This year, we are raising fund for both local and international charities. Our charities for this year are: Mission Together, The Good Shepherd and Comic Relief. We are trying to raise funds in a variety of ways including cake sales and raffles. We are even going to soak our Headteacher Mr Senior! Keep watching this space for details of our Fundraising efforts.
Towards the end of Lent we will be remembering the sacrifice Jesus made for us in our preparation for Holy Week.
