Welcome to Nursery!
In Nursery we have three adults, Miss Hatcher (Nursery Teacher), Mrs Sherwood (Learning Support Assistant a.m.) and Marilyn (Nursery Nurse in Bluebirds and after school staff p.m.). We work alongside Mrs Kayflowers (Reception Teacher) and Miss Wheaton (Reception Leaning Support Assistant). We operate a key person system so that each child has a particular adult who is responsible for their learning and welfare.
Our ethos is ‘learning through play’. Children learn best when they are engaged, enthusiastic, interested and motivated.
We love to get messy and be outdoors so don't worry if we come home a little dirty, it just means we have been learning a lot of different things and practicing different skills. We have an outdoor policy and we will be going outside in nearly all weathers so make sure you bring a coat and warm clothing in the winter.
We choose a book to base our weekly activities on. We observe what the children are interested in and plan activities to support them. We celebrate and discuss religious festivals and events which are happening in the local community. We have short ‘carpet sessions’ 4 times a day where teachers lead a group activity, which may include reading a story, singing songs, team games or spending time with a key worker.
Please checkback regularly we will keep you updated !
Teddy Bears picnic
We had a lovely day sharing our teddy bears. We told everyone all about them. The bears loved joining in with activities and exploring the classroom
