If your child is absent from school due to illness, please inform us each morning before 9.25am. If we are unsure why your child is absent from school, Mrs McLoughin will attempt to contact you to obtain this information via our first response system. We will usually ask you to provide a doctor’s note if the illness is prolonged.
If your child is well enough to attend school but has been prescribed medicines by a doctor, school staff can administer the prescription on your behalf in the following circumstances:
- A consent to administer medicine form has been completed at the school office
- The child’s name, address and date of issue should be clearly marked on the prescription
- Prescribed medicine should be in-date
- Only medicine prescribed to be taken 4 times a day or more will be administered
All medicines should be brought in/picked up from the school office by a parent/guardian each day. Under no circumstances should medicine be kept in your childs school bag or classroom without prior consent from a member of staff.
