Year 1

Welcome To Our Year 1 Class Page

Thank you for visiting our Y1 Class Page, we hope you enjoy looking through our learning journey and finding out all about us and the exciting work we do.

Y1 are currently being taught by Mr. Smith and supported by Mrs. Braithwaite and Miss Morton.

September 2020

Welcome to our Y1 Class Page! Moving from Reception to Y1 is a big move in any year, but more so this year. Some of our routines are a little different now but we will work together and help each other to follow them. Below is some information to help at the beginning of the term.

P.E.

Y1 will have P.E. every Thursday afternoon. Children will need a P.E. kit which consists of a white t-shirt, black/navy shorts and black pumps. All P.E. kits should be brought into school in a bag on Tuesday morning and taken home at the end of the day to be washed. We will not be storing P.E. kits in school at this time.

Homework

Children will be given homework via our Google Classrooms which many children accessed during the school closure. Information regarding this will be sent home shortly and children will access it with the class codes set. If children are unable to access Internet learning at home, paper copies can be supplied.

Reading Books

Children are currently being assessed in their reading and in the coming weeks we will be giving out reading books which match your child's reading ability. One book will be given out on a Monday and will need to be returned on the Thursday.

School is a little different for us all at the moment but please do ask if you have any questions about the new routines. Keep on checking our class page to find out what we are up to in class and our Y1 Twitter page.

Google Classroom

We have given each child the three classroom codes needed to access our Google Classroom page. If you log in with the details you should already have been given then you should see a + sign. To enter the Year 1 Classroom, simply click on the sign and enter the code. If you need your login details again please ask us next week and we will give them to you on the same day.

All three subjects currently contain just one task: to open it and tell Mr Smith the secret password next week for a reward of 10 dojos.

The codes for each subject are...

English - z3bi6fm

Maths - xgxn7zk

Other - mya7b7l

School Closure

Dear Parents,

Whether you are a key worker or at home with your children, I want to say a massive thank you for taking time out of your day to visit the Year 1 class page, as we all work together to fight this virus and keep each other safe. I hope it is a place where you can find support and guidance in the coming weeks and months during this unprecedented time.

There are a range of useful websites below for you to use too.

I am working from home at the moment and miss the routine and interactions of school life.

I can't wait to see you all soon!

Mrs Cook
