Welcome To Our Year 5 Class Page

Thank you for visiting our page.

 

Year 5 are taught by Mrs Craig with Miss Carpenter to support us in our learning.

 

We are a friendly bunch of children who love to have fun while we are learning! 

 

Our topics for the second half of the spring term:

English - our class book is The Secret Garden

Maths - properties of shape and direction

Geography - Are we damaging our world? 

Science - Separating mixtures

DT - 3D modelling with recycled materials

 

 

PE this term will be swimming.

Our lessons will be on Thursdays. Please make sure your swimming kit is in school on Thursdays. 

 

Homework will be sent out each Friday to be returned to school the following Monday.

Y5 got robbed... (not really, #anythingforwriting)

As the introduction to Y5's topic of journalistic writing, the classroom was ransacked to make it look like a robbery had taken place. The children were outraged. This was the perfect hook into the topic which is allowing the children to become mini-reporters.

24.6.19: Y5 have had a very educational workshop with CAFOD today, we extended our learning about the issues impacting on our environment. We have decided to become Zero Heroes!
